Despite efforts to diversify the makeup of the workplace and improve access to jobs for previously side-lined groups, just 5.8% of people with learning difficulties are in paid work.
The figure, which denotes those with learning difficulties known to social services, can be compared with the 74% of non-disabled people who are in paid work – Guardian reports.
