Korn Ferry, an Executive Search specialist, has found that just five per cent of CEO positions are held by women in the top 1,000 companies in the US.
Although the Search firm’s study, conducted in partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation, found that respondents were positive about the business case for female leaders, women still find themselves in the minority when it comes to leadership.
51% of those polled argued that greater gender diversity makes companies perform better.
Although the issue of gender diversity and the gender pay gap is currently receiving a lot of media attention, many are concerned that their current employer is not doing enough to promote leadership skills at all.
