Following the events in Charlottesville, which saw ‘alt-right’ protesters contest the removal of a statue of Robert E Lee from a park manifesting into a white supremacist riot, Trump has said both sides were to blame for the violence.
However, Apple CEO Tim Cook, has addressed the violence in an email to his employees, condemning racism and bigotry, as well as President Trump's response to the tragedy.
The email, obtained by BuzzFeed News, saw Cook write to employees that "hate is a cancer," noting that Apple must be "unequivocal" about fighting and denouncing bigotry in all forms.
The CEO also quoted Martin Luther King, and reiterated that Apple can and will play an important role in bringing about positive change.
