'English only' note in Sports Direct store investigated

A notice telling staff to only speak English posted on a wall of a Bangor Sports Direct store is being investigated by the Welsh Language Commissioner.

The alleged ban on staff speaking any language other than English is understood to be for health and safety reasons.

The notice has received criticism from Plaid Cymru AM Sian Gwenllian, who said it was "discriminatory" in an area where a lot of people speak Welsh.

However, the firm have said that there is no ban, and are looking into the incident.
