BBC pay revelations spark gender pay gap row

With increasing parliamentary and public scrutiny on pay disparity and the gender pay gap, today, the BBC revealed the salaries of those earning more than £150,000.

Chris Evans tops the lists, earning between £2.2m and £2.25m. Gary Lineker is the BBC’s second highest paid star, on over £1.7m, with Graham Norton making up the top three on a published salary of between £850,000 and £900,000.

The only women to make the top 10 highest paid BBC stars are Claudia Winkleman, joint eighth highest, and One Show star Alex Jones, who was joint tenth highest paid.

Shockingly, the collective salaries of the top four BBC presenters totalled £5.5million whilst the collective take home of the top four female BBC presenters was £1.75m.
