Step inside Google's new wacky London HQ

Plans for Google’s new London HQ are rumoured to include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a rooftop strawberry meadow and sleep pods -  The Daily Mail reports.

The building project, costing £1billion, will house 7,000 UK employees with construction due to start next year. The offices will contain £5,000 sleep pods, in which tired workers can relax during a busy work day. However, as the Daily Mail reports, sleep pods are not always used in the way they were intended – with previous reports of staff oversleeping and taking advantage.

The new offices will also be dog friendly, with employees actively encouraged to bring their pups into work. However, cats are less welcome. The company says: “For the health and wellbeing of the cat, with so many dogs around, owners are discouraged from bringing cats, though Google does not discriminate against them.”

Gimmicky interiors are a favourite staple of any Google office, and the London HQ will reportedly be no different. Dodgems cars, beach huts and false walls leading to wacky rooms will pepper the outlandish building.
