Highly skilled workers from the EU are the most likely to leave the UK as a result of Brexit, new research into the jobs market has found.
Conducted by Deloitte, the research finds that almost half (47%) of highly skilled workers from the EU considered leaving the UK in the next five years, immediately after Brexit. Overall, 36% of UK-based non-British workers said they were considering leaving in the same period, with experts citing the causes as an uncertain UK economic outlook and a depreciating pound - The Guardian reports.
However, respondents to Deloitte’s survey, based outside of the UK, ranked the UK as the most desirable place to work for overseas residents. David Sproul, Chief Executive of Deloitte north-west Europe, notes that the UK’s employment opportunities and diversity are still attractive to foreign workers.
He said: “The UK’s cultural diversity, employment opportunities and quality of life are assets that continue to attract the world’s best and brightest people.
