Salary not employee's primary concern, these are...

Salary isn’t the primary concern of today’s employees, according to a new workforce survey led by recruitment agency Katie Bard.

Instead, respondents overwhelmingly put the condition of their working environment (70%) and career progression (60%) ahead of salary (48%).

However, just over half (51%) of those surveyed said they had turned down a job due to the salary and benefits package on offer – highlighting salary as an employee concern, if not a deal-breaking one.

Verity Stokes, Divisional Leader at Katie Bard, explained the results showed that today’s workers and jobseekers were less concerned with short-term gains and were interested in their career as a whole.
