Whilst a lot of hearsay swirls around the HR world when it comes to championing equality, research suggests that around 80% of UK industries are guilty of not paying male and female staff equally.
However, some of the highest paid jobs in the UK are edging closer to promoting equal pay.
40% of these industries with the lowest wage disparity between men and women require an educational background in a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering and maths).
Encouraging more women into STEM has been a continuous campaign for many organisations, with jobs in the IT sector in particular, the best paid jobs for women with an average salary of £67,767. However, female employment still remains 25%.
