Worker's post-promotion envy leads to sexist rant at colleague

Rejection is part and parcel of development and growth.

No one particularly likes seeing a co-worker promoted above them - but if the colleague deserves the boost then just be happy for them.

Promotions – and, sometimes, demotions – are commonplace in every workplace. HR needs to pre-empt the spreading of envy or jealousy in these instances and fully explain to all involved why this decision has been made – and make a plan moving forward.

So, imagine hearing that an employee’s promotion has earned said new promotee a viciously inappropriate text from a colleague later that night.
