The sickie is declining, & here's why...

UK workers are three times more likely to go into work unwell than ‘pull a sickie’, new research suggests.

Seven in ten (69%) employees admit to going into work unwell, according to Aviva’s Working Lives report, and less than a quarter (23%) say they have pulled a sickie despite not being unwell.

Further figures indicate that UK employees are three times more likely to go to work when they are sick.

Outdated attitudes are deterring employees from abstaining from work, with under half (43%) of employees feeling that their employer puts the results of the company ahead of their health and wellbeing.
