A founding employee of SpaceX has lambasted his competitors as well revealing what its like to work for his boss: Elon Musk.
Tom Mueller, Propulsion Chief Technology Officer at the aerospace company said that working for 'The Musk', CEO of both Tesla Motors and SpaceX, is “quite a trip.”
During a Skype call with members of NYU’s Astronomy Club earlier this month, Mueller revealed: "It’s quite a trip, working for Elon. It’s different every day, because it all depends on what mood he’s in. He’s been in a great mood lately; we’ve been very successful, and Tesla’s been doing quite well, [but] he’s still extremely demanding."
He elaborates: “We’ll have, you know, a group of people sitting in a room, making a key decision. And everybody in that room will say, basically, ‘We need to turn left,’ and Elon will say ‘No, we’re gonna turn right.’ And that’s how he thinks. He’s like, ‘You guys are taking the easy way out; we need to take the hard way’.”
