Cyber-hero who halted NHS hack rewarded with THIS by boss...

The cybersecurity analyst who managed to halt the spread of malicious ransomware has been awarded a week off work by his boss.

Marcus Hutchins, the 22-year-old tech genius, “accidentally” stopped the virus in its tracks - although the ransomware had already affected hundreds of organisations, including the NHS.

Hutchins, who works for Kryptos Logic, explained in an interview with the BBC that he found a kill switch in the ransomware’s code, allowing him to stop the spread.

He also revealed that he had been enjoying a week’s annual leave when he started investigating the virus and, as a reward, his impressed boss gave him another week’s holiday.
