Deliveroo has made sizable changes to their courier contracts following criticism from MPs over the treatment of their workers.
The BBC reports that the delivery company has done away with one clause which prevented couriers from raising concerns over their self-employed status before a tribunal – this was unlawful.
Dan Warne, UK Managing Director at Deliveroo, commented to the BBC that the new contracts “makes clear that our riders are able to log in to work with us whenever they want - allowing them to fit their work around their life rather than their life around their work”.
The company has now specified that freelance couriers can now work for other businesses and are not forced to wear the official Deliveroo uniform.
