Specialist cocktail bar group Be At One has appointed a new Head of Training.
Not limited to ensuring staff are well-versed in creating the perfect cosmopolitan, mojito or gin fizz, Kimberley King’s main responsibility will be to source training solutions to support Be At One’s growing business.
In her new role, King will also be in charge of creating career development plans for all staff, from bartenders to those in the finance team. Be At One currently employs 410 staff across its 32 bars.
The cocktail firm’s training and development programme, which invests over £6,000 in each trainee bartender and takes them through an intensive nine-week programme, is the firms primary focus at present.
Climbing the ranks, King began her career at Be At One as a trainee at the group’s Balham site in 2010. One year later, she took on a role as a classroom trainer, which spiralled into King taking on a series of roles, from Learning and Development Officer to Central Learning and Development Manager, before her appointment as Head of Training.
Commenting on her new role, King says: “Developing and watching people grow has always been my passion and I am very excited to be the Head of Training for such a great company. Through my various roles at Be At One, I have been fortunate enough to meet everyone that has joined the business, taking them through the induction process. Watching them grow at the company has been a source of great pride and I cannot wait to continue to train and inspire people in my new role.”
Graham McDonnell, HR Director at Be At One, adds: “Kimberley has been a great asset to the Be At One team since she started with the business seven years ago and has been an integral part of our renowned training programme. I could not be more pleased for her and look forward to working together in her new role.”
