Firm at centre of row over bizarre alleged squid-related forfeit

Claims management company Central Claims Group is at the centre of a bizarre dispute over a squid-related forfeit.

The incident was originally reported in the Manchester Evening News (MEN) and has since been labelled by them to The Times as a “misinformed article” and “not a reflection of the events that took place or of the business as a whole” that has resulted in the firm “seeking legal action against the MEN”.

MEN’s report, now taken down, featured a video which was purported to show a squid being lowered onto the faces of staff members. The news story claimed that the incident was a result of a competition between two sales teams. The team with the highest sales decided the forfeit for the other team.

Other forfeits have included a “chicken dance”. The video can be seen below, but squeamish readers should probably avoid watching this one.
