A woman has been penalised for giving birth to her second child without seeking her employer’s consent.
Going by the alias Zhou Quan, the employee from Eastern China has been fined for the birth of her second child, after breaking an agreement with her employer that only two female staff at the firm could be pregnant each year – one in April and another in October.
According to Beijing Youth Daily, the employer based in Jinan, Shandong province, scheduled that Zhou could only become pregnant in 2020.

However, Zhou, 31, fell pregnant prior to the schedule and after taking maternity leave, she was told by an officer at the company that she would be fined more than 2,000 yuan (£250).
