Jeremy Corbyn pledges to increase national minimum wage to £10 an hour

Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn has pledged to raise the minimum wage from £9 per hour to £10 – if his party wins the next general election.

The promise came as part of the party’s long-term plan, which The Guardian reports will benefit almost six million UK employees.

The publication reports that, on a visit to Luton, Corbyn will say: “The Government’s rebranding of the minimum wage to the national living wage hasn’t dealt with the real problems of low pay and rising cost of living.
