It's not motherhood that affects women's career ambitions...

Dispelling the myth that motherhood is a detriment to female’s career ambitions; new research suggests that corporate culture that fails to embrace diversity is a prominent cause.

According to a report by The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), titled 'Dispelling the Myths of the Gender “Ambition Gap”' women are equally as ambitious as men at the start of their careers.

In particular, across male and female employees under the age of 30, there was little distinction between their levels of aspiration.

During the course of their careers, both women’s and men’s ambition tended to decline, however, female’s ambitions weakened faster than men’s - only at companies that don’t embrace gender diversity.
