Sleep loss sparks arguments & 'loss of control' at work

Just one night of lost sleep can cause erratic and disruptive behaviour at work, researchers have found – the BBC reports.

The study, undertaken by the Rotterdam School of Management, concludes that a lack of sleep links to lower levels of self-control and has the potential to cause a “destructive cycle” in work.

These behaviours include being rude and an increased likelihood of office theft.

Speaking about the results, Researcher Laura Giurge, of the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, explained that “unwanted behaviour in the workplace often stems from selfish impulses that are not kept in check by self-control".
