Shocking report finds Sydney Airport staff sleeping under terminals between work shifts

Staff at Sydney Airport sleep on makeshift beds underneath terminals near baggage carousels, stating that they cannot afford to go home between shifts.

Footage obtained by ABC 7.30, found that workers were sleeping on dirty sheets and rolled-up bedding in the staff only area of Sydney Airport's International Terminal.

According to the Transport Workers Union (TWU), split-shift workers cannot afford either financially or timewise to go home during breaks between their early starts and late finishes. Employees have also voiced concerns about safety risks due to high levels of fatigue.

Driver George Orsaris, who is employed by Aerocare, believes he will lose his job for speaking with the news publication - however, he wanted to expose the conditions.
