Quarter of young mothers face 'shocking' job discrimination

There’s a plethora of discriminatory acts being committed against young, pregnant women in the workplace, according to a new report.

The survey, from The Young Women’s Trust, found that two in five mothers, aged 16 to 24, were quizzed about their ability to manage both their work life and their children. Of the 300 mothers who were polled, most of them agreed that employers’ attitudes toward them played an important role in their job search.

    One in four turned down? This isn't discrimination, in fact one in three are turned down at the HR consultancy firm I work at. Their job role might not allow flexibility, a key account manager for example.

    Also if 2 in 5 are asked in interview, please identify those 120 ladies and tell them to lodge a tribunal against their employer. Automatic sex discrimination has happened. The employer surely will not be able to defend themselves as they most certainly will not have written that down in their interview scoring matrix.
