With the rise of technology and automated jobs, employees run a risk of their roles becoming obsolete in the near future.
A survey from Bidvine.com, which interviewed 1,228 people, revealed that the public have certain preconceptions of which industries are likely to be redundant by 2027. When asked why the respondents thought in this way, nearly three quarters (72%) answered the rapid progression in technology while 26% stated the growing convenience of online services.
With improvements in self-driving technology and AI, many believe that manual sectors may feel the pinch of the robotic take-over. Tech genius Elon Musk recently advocated the need for a potential universal income, to combat the rise on automated roles.
In an interview with CNBC, he explained: “People will have time to do other things, more complex things, more interesting things. Certainly, more leisure time. And then we have to figure how we integrate with a world and future with a vast AI.
