Direct Line employee allegedly 'soaked homeless people with water'

An employee from Leeds – allegedly a member of staff at Direct Line – has been accused of deliberately soaking three homeless people with water.

According to a Facebook post uploaded by a witness, the employee was from Direct Line House on the Headrow, and threw water onto the pavement towards two homeless men that were sleeping.

The insurance firm has confirmed it is investigating the incident and has issued an apology – Yorkshire Evening Post reports. Direct Line has also replaced their wet bedding and donated clothes and food.

A Direct Line statement read: ''We are aware of an incident outside one of our buildings in Leeds and are currently investigating this. Meanwhile, we have spoken to the individuals concerned and have apologised for any distress caused whilst we gain some clarity on the events that took place.
