Firm swaps 90% of human staff for robots & sees 250% productivity rise

Automation is fast-becoming a byword for companies’ attempts to future-proof their business models and boost productivity in a fast-changing global marketplace.

An example of this, as Monetary Watch reports, comes from one factory in Dongguan, China, which replaced 90% of its human workers with robots, consequentially experiencing a 250% productivity boost.

The factory, owned by Changying Precision Technology, produces mobile phone technologies, and has reduced its 650 staff to just 60.

Lui Weiqiang, General Manager of the factory, explains he has plans to reduce employee numbers to just 20, claiming that automation has ensured better quality products and less mistakes on the production line.
