Leading Crown customers Carillion PLC and Trailfinders are reaping the benefits of effective workforce management which has resulted in them being able to better plan for the future and given them the visibility to make informed strategic decisions about how to operate their organisations to best effect.
Leaders from the two companies talk about the step changes they have made using a Crown Workforce Management system in a video outlining its Business Benefits.
For Carillion, the product immediately brought a time-saving boon – reducing payroll administration from a working week to just a couple of hours.
“The visibility of our resources across various sites has enabled us to plan and respond to requirements as they happen, including accessing people with specialist skills such as trained first aiders. It has also enabled us to apply those resources more effectively including contract and agency staff,” says Naomi Stephens, Carillion’s Workforce Excellence Manager.
For travel company Trailfinders, the implementation of Crown Workforce Management system spearheaded organisational change which resulted in a centralisation of support services, self-service input from staff and allowed more time for its 32 branch managers to focus on core business.
As a result, in three years, the business has seen sales growth of 10 per cent, year-on-year.
Russell McHardy, Trailfinders Operations Director, believes that the system triggered a step change which fuelled real business improvement.
“It forced us to address the bigger picture and has undoubtedly contributed to our ongoing success. We have been able to reinvigorate our managers and allowed them to focus on sales generation instead of staffing arrangements,” he explains.
