HR is 'largely underprepared' to address key issues

A long-term strategy must be implemented if HR is to “eliminate critical deficiencies”, a report into the key issues that HR needs to address has concluded.

The report by the Hackett Group, HR Key Issues 2015, said that HR is “largely underprepared to address … [issues] including innovation, workforce strategy and leadership.”

It also stated that it was imperative that HR is prudent in its allocation of resources and makes its priorities clear if it is to “eliminate critical deficiencies … [specifically] Talent management, strategic workforce planning, human capital analytics and deployment of technology to improve service delivery.”

Speaking exclusively to HR Grapevine, Nathalie Bression, Senior Director, Human Resources Executive Advisory Global Practice Leader, emphasised the importance of a realistic attitude to resolving these problems: “There isn’t a quick-fix to these problems, and resolving them through transformation activities may take several years.
