A handful of HR Grapevine employees will be ‘jailbreaking’ this May Day weekend in an attempt to raise money for Shelter.
The charitable event involves teams of two having to make their way as far as they can in the world without spending any money – relying completely on the goodwill of strangers.
The ‘jailbreak’ will begin tomorrow in Welwyn Garden City at 10am and will officially end Sunday at 10pm when each team will have to record how far they have managed to get. The winners will be those that got the furthest.
The teams aim to collectively raise £1,000 for the homeless charity and have already achieved 79% of their target.
Participants include a number of staff from multiple functions within the organisation including Editor & Head of Content, Calum Di Lieto.
He says: “It is all for a very worthy cause and by being homeless and moneyless for just two days we will experience just a fraction of the hardship that millions suffer every day.
“It will be difficult but we are all really excited about the challenge and adventure that awaits us!”
The other brave HR Grapevine employees taking part are: Anya Chupryna, Jamie-Louise Harvey, Matthew Woods, Peter Makin and Gina Vaccarella.
