Where are large organisations winning with candidate sourcing?

Which channels are working to attract the best quality and quantity of candidates within large organisations?

Do Pay-Per-Click ads lead the way or are ATS/CRM tools providing the best quality and quantity of candidates? In this insight, we will look at the ‘talent magnet’ channels for large organisations, as analysed for the UK Candidate Attraction Report 2018.

Within the survey, large organisations have between 5,001 and 10,000 employees. In the 2018 Candidate Attraction Survey, we saw similarities with the sourcing successes that smaller organisations are seeing (see previous insight). Job aggregators, especially when job ads are sponsored can produce great results for large organisations. Interestingly, social media can also be a successful channel too when a company reaches this size.

What do previous results show?

If we go back further and look at the 2017 Candidate Attraction Survey quadrant for companies with between 5,001-10,000 employees, we saw a dip in the quantities and overall quality of candidates generated by the companies own careers and generalist job b0oards. However, employee referrals and professional social networks both remain consistent across 2017 and 2018.

2018 Sourcing Quadrant for 5,001 – 10,000 Employee

If we look at the 2018 sourcing challenges that larger companies face, marketing budget, negative branding and a lack of resourcing team skills are the main factors cited. Different once again to the 2017 results where candidate scarcity was the top sourcing challenge (55%).
