Businesses struggle to measure the cost of absenteeism


Absenteeism costs UK businesses around £30billion a year, according to PwC. However, measuring the true cost of absenteeism is still a struggle for many.

MidlandHR surveyed more than 120 HR professionals to identify attitudes towards absence management and reporting.

It found that 65% of professionals said absenteeism is managed through combined efforts between HR and line managers, while 85% rely on reports to assist with communicating about the state of absence.
