'Message is clear' | Is health and wellbeing just a tick-box exercise? More than half of employees think so

New research has raised questions over whether employers’ health and wellbeing initiatives are meeting the genuine needs of their workforce.

As it happens, more than half (52%) of employees believe workplace health and wellbeing initiatives are little more than a ‘tick-box exercise’, according to research from Vitality.

The finding comes despite nearly two thirds of employees reporting that their employer provides access to formal health and wellbeing benefits and services (63%).

Similar proportions said their organisation offers health and wellbeing support tools, including apps, online resources and employee assistance programmes (65%), as well as training on areas such as stress management (64%).
