'Very disappointing' | Fintech firm faces staff backlash after cutting paid paternity leave

Fintech firm Wise is facing internal backlash after cutting the amount of paid paternity leave available to fathers and secondary caregivers from 18 weeks to eight.

The changes, which came into effect earlier this month, were first reported by City AM. Internal messages seen by the publication show employees expressing disappointment at the decision, with some accusing the company of rowing back on one of its most generous family-friendly benefits.

One employee reportedly criticised Wise for prioritising the financial position of the company "over the wellbeing of their employees and family."

"It's very disappointing," the employee added.
