Co-op & Next | National Coalition for Workplace Savings launches - here's why top UK employers are signing up

The National Coalition for Workplace Savings has officially been launched, with employers including the Co-op, Next, and Burger King signing up to help UK adults boost their financial security.

It comes as a savings crisis grips UK adults, with the Pensions Commission finding that over 15 million Britons are not saving enough to retire.

Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands – the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA) – and Rachel Blake MP, City Minister and Economic Secretary to the Treasury, were among those to celebrate the initiative’s arrival on 16 June.

“This Coalition will help make workplace savings schemes easier to access and support more working people to build regular savings habits and a financial safety net,” Blake stated. “I strongly encourage employers to get behind this scheme today.”
