Scott Mills is reportedly preparing to sue the BBC over his dismissal following allegations about his personal conduct, with the star DJ said to believe he was unfairly sacked.
The Mail on Sunday first reported that the 53-year-old, who was dismissed from his position at the national broadcaster in March, has instructed lawyers, with his legal team said to have been in contact with the broadcaster for several weeks.
And an employment law expert has told HR Grapevine the case could raise questions over whether the BBC acted proportionately or relied on a breakdown in trust and confidence to justify the decision.
The presenter had hosted the Radio 2 breakfast show since January 2025, and was last on air on March 24. Days later, staff were informed via internal email that Mills had left the organisation with immediate effect.
