A university in Wales has been accused of fostering a “toxic culture” and bullying staff, with claims the situation has contributed to high levels of sickness absence.
According to BBC News, former employees at the University of South Wales (USW) are calling for an independent inquiry following an investigation by Newyddion S4C, which gathered testimony and documentation from more than a dozen ex-staff members.
The university has rejected the allegations, stating it “condemns all forms of bullying, harassment and discrimination”.
USW, formed in 2013 through the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport, employs more than 2,800 staff and has over 20,000 students.
