Sunak has warned AI is already slowing entry-level hiring

Former prime minister Rishi Sunak has warned that artificial intelligence is beginning to flatten the jobs market for young people, as employers rethink entry-level hiring.

Speaking to BBC News, Sunak said graduates’ concerns about AI replacing early-career roles are “justified”, with business leaders already scaling back recruitment.

Entry-level hiring ‘flattening’ amid AI adoption

Sunak said company bosses had privately told him that hiring of young workers is being impacted by the rapid deployment of AI tools.

"There are reasons to be worried and think about the future. But we are able to do something about this," he said.
