NHS staff have been warned about publicly criticisising the health service’s use of Palantir technology, wjth one employee even being told they could lose their job.
According to reporting by the Financial Times, the warning centres on the rollout of Palantir’s Federated Data Platform (FDP), a system designed to bring together NHS data such as waiting lists, theatre schedules and staffing information into a single interface.
One NHS analytics official told the FT they received a direct warning from a senior NHS England figure after raising concerns about the platform.
“If you criticise the FDP one more time, you are going to lose your job”, they were told.
The anonymous official said they were not alone in being cautioned against speaking out: “I know I am not the only one inside the NHS who has been warned off criticising the tool publicly.”
