This time it’s the turn of the language learning app’s chief exec, whose recent appearance on The Burnouts Podcast included a bizarre hiring anecdote that has since made national headlines.

Von Ahn’s secret to recruiting the right kind of candidate, he revealed, was to find out how they treated a driver who took them from an airport to Duolingo HQ for an interview.
