An ex-Metropolitan Police employee has admitted using forged medical documents to secure nearly two years of unauthorised absence.
Natasha Fountain, 29, pleaded guilty to fraud by misrepresentation at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, appearing via video link. The court was told she submitted falsified sick notes to justify extended absences, resulting in approximately 200 days off work and costing the force close to £20,000.
Nearly two years of fraudulent absence
Fountain was employed as a communications and engagement officer between June 2022 and August 2024.
While her initial period of sickness absence was supported by a legitimate medical note, the court heard that she went on to submit a series of forged documents between 4 November 2022 and 3 May 2024.
