JD Sports has welcomed over 10,000 young people in Manchester to its ‘blockbuster’ careers event, in a bid to drive social mobility and employment opportunities in the retail sector.
Taking place on 24 and 25 February, JD UP will showcase roles across 28 JD departments – and feature a guest appearance from Angry Ginge.
It comes as youth unemployment figures (16 to 24 years) hit a 10-year high of 16.1% in the three months to December 2025.
Nicola Kowalczuk, Chief People Officer at JD, hailed the “amazing, authentic event” and its ability to “create meaningful opportunities” for young people.
