A security officer has been awarded nearly £69,000 after an employment tribunal found she was subjected to 'humiliating' harassment...
While working for Mitie Ltd at Southampton General Hospital, the worker (referred to only as ‘CL’ in the legal documents) was mocked by being called “mummy”, was frozen out by colleagues, and exposed to misogynistic remarks such as “all women and money are evil”.
The tribunal found the CL was constructively dismissed after raising concerns, and concluded the behaviour created an “intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment” for her.

CL started work for Mitie in July 2023, employed as a Security Officer at Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust (at Southampton General Hospital). The tribunal noted there was “no dispute” she was “excellent at her job” and “particularly good at de-escalating difficult situations”.
