‘Human creators’ | Warhammer maker Games Workshop bans staff from using AI

Warhammer maker Games Workshop is ruling with an iron fist on employee usage of artificial intelligence, its chief executive has revealed.

CEO Kevin Rountree said staff are banned from using AI and AI-generated content during any design or production process – although a “few” managers are permitted to experiment with the technology.

It comes amid ongoing scrutiny by Warhammer 40,000 fans over how manufacturers use AI during the creation of products and artwork.

Customers of the tabletop game are historically passionate about human craftsmanship and have criticised some companies over claims of alleged use of generative AI.
