And there we have it… the last of the mulled wine and New Year’s bubbly poured out, all traces of cheese, chocolate and mince pies gone, and the out-of-office status finally, begrudgingly, removed.
Ah, January land. It’s tricky to know how to feel this time of year. Refreshed? Overindulged? Excited? Exhausted? Or E) All of the above?
The noise surrounding Blue Monday adds fuel to the fire, with a borderline expectation that we should be feeling miserable – and, reassuringly, that the miracle of consumerism is there to fill the void (your local supermarket already has its shelves stocked with Valentine's Day treats and Easter Eggs aplenty).
But although critics may justifiably point to Blue Monday as a dressed-up marketing stunt, it can be a springboard for positive conversations in a month where wellbeing is top of mind.
