The UK faces a possible crisp shortage this Christmas, a union has warned, as workers responsible for the production of Hula-Hoops, McCoy’s, and Discos vote to strike.

It comes amid a pay dispute at a KP Snacks factory in Billingham, Teesside, between management and staff represented by the GMB union.

GMB said that KP process operatives voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action, over claims they have been asked to take on extra work without additional compensation.

Nearly 50 workers – a majority of 85% - voted to strike.
