GSK is no longer one of Europe’s leading firms on diversity, the FT has reported, with employees unhappy about a decision to abandon DEI targets earlier in 2025.
The pharmaceutical giant plummeted from seventh place in last year’s FT-Statista European Diversity Leaders rankings, to 224th this year.
GSK’s astonishing drop-off came as it dropped diversity targets for its leadership and supplier programmes in line with executive orders from President Donald Trump in the US, who branded diversiry, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programmes “illegal."

Scrapping diversity measures caused employees of the UK-headquartered firm to lose confidence in their organisation’s commitment to DEI, the FT said.
