Moderna’s Chief People & Digital Officer, Tracey Franklin, has become the latest high-profile executive to reveal how agentic AI is impacting jobs at her firm, including in the HR department.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal earlier this week, Franklin revealed that roles typically covered by low-level HR analysts have now been replaced by AI agents.
The shift to an AI-centric approach to workforce management at Moderna comes after the biotech company merged its technology and HR departments last year.

Speaking to The Journal, Franklin said she has redesigned teams across Moderna based on work that can be automated and work that is best completed by humans.
