Why employers must heed WEF's £9trillion wellbeing warning

“The pendulum is swinging back.”

Oxford Professor of Economics and Behavioural Science Jan-Emmanuel De Neve has a rather chastening perspective on the current state of workplace wellbeing.

In an interview published by the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Oxford Professor said his extensive research has shown that corporate focus on mental health and wellbeing is now slipping back to pre-Pandemic levels.

As we need hardly tell you, that’s bad news for all. For starters, WEF cited a McKinsey Health Institute finding that estimated that a greater investment in employee wellbeing by employers could boost the global economy by a staggering $11.7trillion (roughly £9trillion).
