Detective allegedly 'weighted down' laptop keys to fake work-from-home

A detective will face a misconduct hearing after she allegedly misled her employer by weighing down laptop keys to give the impression she was working.

The misconduct hearing has been accelerated to Thursday by Avon and Somerset police.

The force claims that DC Philippa Baskwill “weighted down keys on her laptop keyboard for considerable periods of time,” arguing the detective is guilty of gross misconduct.

According to a notice regarding the hearing, Avon and Somerset police claim DC Baskwill has breached the force’s professional behaviour standards.
