More than three-quarters (77%) of Gen Z employees say they are frequently kept up at night thinking about work.
According to recent research from Aviva, similar attitudes were seen with Millennials (75%), while older people reported this less, but the numbers are still significant – 54% of Generation X and 40% of Baby Boomers.
When asked about how poor sleep affects them at work, four in five (81%) Gen Zers reported often feeling “stressed or anxious at work due to lack of sleep.”
Gen Zers are also getting less sleep than the recommended 8-hour average – with half (54%) of those surveyed usually getting 6-7 hours’ sleep on a worknight and a quarter (25%) saying they only had 4-5 hours of sleep. Just 16% of those surveyed had 8-9 hours of sleep.
