Around 750 jobs are at risk after Santander announced plans to close up to a fifth of its UK branches.
The high street bank will close 95 of its 444 branches from June, it said in a statement.
The lender will continue to operate 349 outlets, including 290 full-service branches and 36 reduced-hours branches.
Santander is one of the many UK banks steadily reducing its bricks & mortar operations, in a bid to cut costs and focus on the rise in digital banking.
